Don Kobee, born Paa Kwabena Botwe Amankwah Jr., is a rising Ghanaian-American Afrobeats artist based in New Jersey. With roots deeply grounded in Ghanaian culture and music, Don Kobee began his journey as a church musician, playing drums and piano before evolving into a full-fledged recording artist. Influenced by UK Afroswing pioneers like NSG, Tion Wayne, and Darkoo, as well as Ghanaian legends such as Daddy Lumba, Ofori Amponsah, Sarkodie, and Castro, his sound blends traditional Highlife elements with modern Afrobeats to create a fresh, relatable vibe for today’s generation.

Launching his music career in 2020 during the pandemic as a means of coping with depression, Don Kobee released his debut single “Wayee” on October 17th, earning recognition within the African community in the Tri-State area. His breakout came in 2021 with “Too Fine” featuring childhood friends Suwopp and Moviee, amassing over 5 million streams across platforms and going viral on TikTok. Following that, his EP Adinkra Love (2022) and debut album Akuraase Lover Boy (2023) further cemented his status as an emerging force in Afrobeats. With a growing global audience and a passion for storytelling through music, Don Kobee continues to break boundaries with the ambition of taking his sound to the world stage.
