Don Rousell is an artist in every sense of the word. Born in New Orleans, and considering its rich history of R&B, it was the natural place for Don to plant his roots. And those roots run deep and wide. Which is why "artist" is so apropos. When you dig into Don's music you will learn that his taste and ability to weave a story and create the most memorable melodies, comes naturally. Being equally adept at writing lyrics as he is at writing music. As comfortable with funk as he is with folk or rock.
Don is primarily an electric bass player and writes most of his songs at the piano. And like a lot of great musicians, he is self-taught and honed his skills in the clubs. And let us not forget that voice. It has been described as silky smooth, laid back and lilting from a growling baritone to a crystal clear falsetto. Yes, he has range.
