Don't Kill The Beast

More than four years have passed since their last album. The reason for this was not only the pandemic, but also David Blum, the band's songwriter, lost the desire to write music after the last release; or at least the process he'd known until then. He worked on new songs in a cerebral and uninspired manner, all while the feeling of not being able to say anything new hardened.

After a fall in 2019, Blum was no longer able to return to his job as a bicycle courier for nine months. With all the free time that arose from one day to the other he started going for daily walks. The empty time and taking things slow helped him to enter a state of muse. Step by step, his own behavior and old patterns were understood, the need for new things could be realized and own boundaries could be shifted. This state became a central value in his music.

In general, Blum didn't have much interest in music during these months, apart from listening to the records of his favorite bands from his youth. New songs emerged casually, without forcing them as before.

The third album "I AM & I CHANGE" is a musical and lyrical work devoted to change. A commitment to honesty, to oneself and one's surroundings. To an everyday life in which one should spend more time with one's fellow human beings, be able to share oneself, may confide in others and be confided in. Where openness towards the new is a prerequisite to break out of hardened patterns and to redefine one's own environment. I am & I change.
