Doreen Ann Zayas was born on September 9th in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico. At an early age, she began to have an interest in music and started training with solfeggio and singing lessons. At that time she met the musician Angel "Cucco" Peña, who taught her how to sing jingles for advertisement campaigns, and later she recorded with renowned local singers such as Gilberto Santa Rosa and Dagmar.
Her first professional experience in music was in 1992 with Chantelle, a merengue group in which Olga Tañon also participated, and recorded with them the album "Qué Bien", which she had the opportunity to interpret "Siento Rabia", "Que Bien", and "Tu Me Tienes Asi".
In 2003 the singer received a calling from God. Shortly after she started serving the Lord, she was diagnosed with blood cancer. One day, while she was alone in her room singing the only three worship songs she knew, God healed her.
Doreen is working to launch her first EP as soloist, which contains tropical rhythms such as salsa, merengue, and cumbia. In 2018, she launched the singles "Quiero Libertad" and "Vivo Enamorada". At the beginning of 2019, she released a medley, a compilation of the popular worship songs; namely, "Bueno es Alabarte", Pon Aceite", and "Si Tuvieras Fe" in merengue version.
In 2020, Doreen released her single "<a href="spotify:album:3OtzuNkDwlcq0Ysva9JEN5" data-name="Yo Soy Un Milagro">Yo Soy Un Milagro</a>", a song about her testimony of how God healed her from cancer.
