Doug hails from South East Michigan and forges the mid-west work ethic with the great Texas songwriting traditions. Lyrically he stands on the shoulders of greats such as Tom Waits, Guy Clark, Kris Kristofferson, Gillian Welch, James McMurty & Bob Dylan. Musically & sonically he is endlessly inspired by David Rawlings, Django Reinhardt, Jeff Tweedy, Nels Cline & Boston's own beloved Buffalo Tom!
Having spent 30 years promoting the music of others, Doug is finally getting his music onto stages having shed his Chrysalis & day job.
Doug is currently at work on his sophomore effort "UnderDoug" with a targeted release of Summer 2025! His first album "Sure as Shit your Gonna Die" was released in 2023 and can be found on all streaming platforms. You can catch Doug playing live in breweries, taverns, coffee shops, animal shelters, auto salvage yards & random laundromats near you!
