Born in 1991, Jamie Douglas Currie grew up in the Vancouver, Washington area the youngest of three. Always with a knack for cadence, melody, and rhyme, Currie cut his teeth musically in the post hard rock scene as the front man in several bands during and directly following high-school. Growing up though, Currie’s musical sensibilities had been formed by his older brother’s collection of Black Star, Xzibit, and Tupac tapes. In 2018 Currie returned to his first love with the humble release of his nine track mixtape titled 31 Flavors. With tracks from “Vanilla” delivering upbeat, cheerful, punchy, and witty bars to “Honey & Lavender” serving up a more melancholy, dark, and beautiful tone, 31 Flavors was nothing to scoff at. Now after a short hiatus, and with the assist from Portland based producer Neil VonTally, Douggy C is back! Having been inspired by the likes of MF DOOM, Joey Bada$$, and A Tribe Called Quest, Currie has cooked up a spate of singles ready for your listening enjoyment.
