Dragonflies is the collaboration between longtime friends Dhani Harrison and Nigel Godrich. What began as informal sessions between two musicians with decades of shared influences quickly evolved into a new band and a self-titled debut album built on instinct, experimentation, and trust.

Having admired each other's work for years, the pair came together after Godrich offered guidance on Harrison's 2023 solo album Innerstanding. Rather than producing another solo record, the conversation led to something entirely new. Working primarily from Godrich's Brixton studio, they developed songs from tape loops, live instrumentation, and spontaneous ideas, allowing each other to step outside familiar creative roles.

The result is an album that feels both electronic and organic, blending layered grooves, atmospheric textures, and rich songwriting into a sound that is cinematic, intimate, and quietly expansive. Drawing inspiration from artists like Beth Gibbons, David Sylvian, and Ryuichi Sakamoto,
Dragonflies creates music that feels transportive without relying on convention.

The project also marked a new chapter for both artists. After returning to England following two decades in L.A., Harrison found renewed creative freedom, while Godrich, having stepped back from producing and touring, rediscovered the joy of making music with friends. Together they created something neither could have made alone.

Built on friendship and creative curiosity, Dragonflies is only the beginning.
