Drama in the Sauna

Originally found making noise in late night funk squats and disco dens, Drama in the Sauna (DITS) is Gadigal/sydney-based Nick Spurway, a project that emerged from isolation in 2020 , finding a newfound inspiration to create dancefloor-filling basslines in the midst of a global shutdown of clubs and festivals.

A DJ at heart, the pandemic shut down clubs and DITS started producing as a way to keep his skills fresh, aided by one to one mentoring from production legend <a href="spotify:artist:5ZpsIb1MwTyfMmRH3Ma0KG" data-name="Red Rack&#39;Em">Red Rack&#39;Em</a>, as part of his groundbreaking ‘How I Program’ music production classes, a community DITS remains with to this day. Releasing his first production, <a href="spotify:track:7LsIkRUk2wkDgoGvx2puqw" data-name="Gradient (Drama in the Sauna Remix)">Gradient (Drama in the Sauna Remix)</a>, in 2021, then tapped by Blur Records to release his debut original track, <a href="spotify:album:65JmsS94rdRzwLn6VwdxNn" data-name="Hot Water Laundry Service">Hot Water Laundry Service</a>, in 2022. Over the next few years, DITS would collaborate with several leading artists, including <a href="spotify:artist:5jKGpOH5rBJwHWVvuO7WYO" data-name="Future Self">Future Self</a>, with their latest release, <a href="spotify:album:4a88QqR6fgf8qVLBJb29an" data-name="Can&#39;t Sleep">Can&#39;t Sleep</a>, remixed by DITS in 2025.

DITS is messy, vibrant and creates in fits and starts, following nobody and creating noises that truly come from the heart.
