“Drastic Lake” Out Now!
Drastic Measures is an eclectic and energetic indie rock / punk band from South Jersey. They originated in 2021 where founding member Dashiell Grey met Finn Waldorf and Addie DiPietro in a songwriting program and asked the two to help record an album with him. The resulting diy project “America Last” was a discordant hardcore punk album inspired by the likes of The Germs and Bad Brains.
Shortly after their first album, they got Matty Williams to become their drummer. Finally complete as a band, the summer of 2021 saw Drastic Measures recording and releasing many projects, including the Deloris EP and Tear Leather.
Later in the year, they started preforming shows at the Marlton Music Training Center. They quickly became known for their cacophonous shows and animated frontman. Shortly after the shows slowed, the band took some time to find the right sound as Dash continued to release demo albums.
The culmination of more than 3 years of history and growth between the 4 members of Drastic Measures has led to “Drastic Lake”. The album is the bands most diverse work to date, with songs ranging from the pure punk in “Tapeworms” to new wave revival in “Lady Ape” to indie rock in “Photon Boy” and more. Every song contains the energy the four have together from the years of playing together, all recorded in a single day in a single room. “Drastic Lake” comes out 4/19.
