Dream Hill is a 5-piece teenage rock-pop-funk outfit from Newcastle, Australia.
Singer TJ Hughes, guitarist Nikolai Sneddonsaanum , keyboardist Jerra MacDonald (17), bass player Sam Turnbull and drummer Bodie Chadban (17) emerged from the seething hot bed of creative musical talent that is the Hunter School of Performing Arts.
The genesis of the band began in mid-2022 when the five Year 10 music students were given the task of writing a song in an unfamiliar genre, ‘Out of My Head’ was the result - an up-beat, pop ditty with a hook so catchy it has listeners singing along after the first listen.
The lads loved the creative collaboration and threw themselves into ‘the band’ in earnest, writing more original tracks such as ‘Poser’ and ‘Your Highness’, which appear on the band’s debut EP.
Initially rehearsing under the comical moniker, ‘God’s Boner’, the guys settled on the name ‘Dream Hill’ after organisers forced them to perform under ‘No Name’ in a High School Battle of the Bands competition!
They launched their latest single, ‘The Brink’, a punchy punk-laden piece with a mind-bending jazz interlude at 12.01am on Jan 1, 2024. The raucous show stopper whips punters into a frenzy at gigs, and along with teen anthem ‘Out of My Head’, have helped solidify Dream Hill as a must-experience energetic live act.
Dream Hill are eyeing bigger stages and more recording in 2025 and beyond
