Drew Worthley crafts a curious blend of cerebral indie-pop with a twist of lyrical Americana. His sophomore record CRUCIBLE (recorded at Echo Zoo Studios) was acclaimed by Louder Than War as 'one of the albums of the year without doubt.' Following on from his debut acoustic record 'The Ember', the 'blisfully atypical' collection of songs explores memory, economics, London and literature, weaving heartfelt vocals around a smorgasbord of analogue synths, guitars, flugelhorns and battered drums. CRUCIBLE received regular airplay on BBC 6 Music, BBC London and BBC Introducing, numerous features on Baeble Music and 'Tune of the Day' recommendations on AmazingTunes.
Drew's new studio record Maxim - a collaboration with No Spinoza - features “10 childhood nursery rhymes vividly reimagined as if through a glass darkly” (Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music). “An enchanting album meshing chamber-pop whimsy with nostalgic nursery rhymes…A stellar release” (Obscure Sound).
