Formed in the heat and dust of the California desert in 2005, Drifters in Vellichor began as the trio AutoDefe. Unfortunately, the band split up in 2006 shortly after their only release When the War is Over(2005). More than a decade would pass before former bandmates Dan Black(vocals/guitar) and Rich Barnett(drums) would happen upon each other at a local event in Nashville. Picking up where they left off, the duo wasted no time in forming the new group, Drifters in Vellichor, a wistful “concept band” that has its two members traveling to alternate space-times, then returning from those infinite dimensions with new music and stories to share.
To commemorate their reunion, the band has released the Forgotten Tracks(2020) EP, a collection of songs never before released.
Drifters in Vellichor is currently writing and recording their debut Summer 2020 release.
