Australia's DROHTNUNG (Anglo-Saxon meaning Way of Life) was formed in 2004 by multi-instrumentalist Old (given name Wilhelm Johnson). Perhaps most notable for his abrasive expressionism and personal approach to both Blackgaze and Harsh Noise with lyrical themes of nature, life and sorrow.
In between releases, Old created Dark Ambient and Black Metal projects OLD BURIAL TEMPLE, PESTIS CULTUS ,THE NINTH DEPARTURE and featured as guest lyricist and vocalist for Woods of Desolation, Drowning the Light and Yhdarl, amongst others.
