Andrew Marks (Dru-P), grew up in several Alaskan Villages and was given the nickname droopy for his inability to stay awake. After years of not being able to shake the nickname of droopy he changed the spelling and pronunciation. Dru-P began making music as collaboration, recording and producing for several of his friends in a "Steppin' Up" mix tape series. Dru-P also released 3 notable projects with his friend C-Lay. These included "For the Fam", "Dedication" and "Nuchalawoyya." Some standout tracks with C-Lay include: "Feel Good Music, Hutchyoudoin', Better Dayz, AK's Finest, Represent & Got What it Takes." Dru-P stopped making music in 2010 and focused on working as a video producer. He recorded a few songs during his hiatus as a coping mechanism. During the Coronavirus pandemic Dru-P: "Got bored" and the result was the "Negoodzeghe" album. Due to his previous productions being heavily sampled, "Negoodzeghe" is Dru-P's first widespread release. "Negoodzeghe" means owl in Koyukon Athabascan. "Negoodzeghe" is a reflection of Dru-P's failed relationship and North Slope career.
While on Quarantine Dru-P recorded "Bend Don't Break".
Dru-P's latest project is "Eetaa'e Dru-P" which means "My father is" in Koyukon Athabascan. This is the third "Owl Themed Brooding Music" album by Dru-P. "Eetaa'e Dru-P" covers a wide range of topics from being a single father, to the struggles of being Indigenous in a Western Society. "Honestly we're tired of being resilient."
