After a chance 2013 encounter on a rooftop in Bushwick, Scott Underwood and Ivan Matthew DeYoung-Dominguez from 2frail realized they looked like exactly the same person at a certain point in time. This connection soon led Underwood to join up and play drums for The Say So's, where he met Dan Miura, a mainstay of the Brooklyn DIY garage rock scene.

After a few years and eventual disbandment, Miura and Underwood began looking for new influence(s). What they found was Kevin Keane of Bore and Stallion lurking latenight on Halloween in the backyard of Pete's Candy Store in Brooklyn, and Dryclean was formed.

Dryclean maintains a lightweight approach to garage rock, using a combination of straightforward upbeat rhythms with a hearty dose of fuzz. Described by The Deli Mag as "Delivering mid-paced melodic grooves reminiscent of ’90s California garage rock, the New York trio’s performance gets to the core of many collective frustrations," Dryclean is "an energetic act of resistance against the powers that be."
