Originally hailing from the southern shores of Shellharbour NSW, Duckboi is the brainchild of Jack Lincoln- a multi-instrumentalist and producer now based in Sydney, having started off as a solo project as a teenager and now working as a duo with longtime best mate Nicolas Serrao.
Initially influenced from the surf rock sounds of the Wollongong music scene, Duckboi has since branched out with their own unique, off-kilter sound with their coastal heritage receiving influence from the psychedelic rock of contemporary Australian bands through to the avant-garde jazz sounds of Ornette Coleman.
Duckboi first came about as a teenage solo project with early singles ‘Baby Please Come Home’, ‘Wasted Days’ and ‘Crazy’ featuring with radio plays and reviews on triple J and local radio, later featuring on MTV for the insane psychedelic surf trip video of ‘Going to the Beach’.
In the past Duckboi has supported the likes of the Vanns, Dune Rats and Kava Kings along with featuring as headliners in their own right, with both Jack and Nicolas working as professional musicians with many other bands.
After a few quiet years, Duckboi is returning with a new single ‘I Don’t Want To’- an uplifting foray into Optimistic Nihilism featuring the project’s typical off-kilter approach to harmony and rhythm with a more polished and refined sound.
