Duke Charelle

Duke Charelle is multi-instrumentalist Deondre Charelle, an award winning musician.

Duke Charelle has been playing music since kindergarden, starting in choir, then eventually moving on to horn section in band, then to bass in Jazz band, before moving on to guitar during his high school years. Upon starting to play guitar, Deondre studied many styles and artists, including Jimi Hendrix, Joe Satriani, Wes Montgomery, Prince, Metallica, and various others. During these years, he participated in a solo guitar battle and took fourth third for the instrumental he composed. He also performed at The Ark for a song he wrote for a history class, called Johnny Overcoat.

Duke then began to perform in various event during his tenure at Eastern Michigan University as a student, including poetry slam events and live radio performances. Here, he met with musicians from Parliament FUnkadelic, and began to craft his material for his album.

Duke has performed with various artists for various events, such as SXSW, Muskegon Music Festival, Paris Black, Muruga Booker, members of Motown, among others. Duke is also the second guitarist for P-Funk Outlawz, featuring Kount Funkula, and Tony Strat, of Parliament Funkadelic.

Duke Charelle's single Liquid Galaxies (Grains of Sand), reached Top 20 Billboard, ranked #22, as well as iTunes Top 10 at #6.
