D.U.L

Why D.U.L?
D.U.L is a mixture of my name (Abdala/Abdul) and an acronym. The acronym stands for “Die Until you Live”, for the reason that nothing in life comes easy. Sometimes the pain you go through can be worse than death, however you must keep dying and making it through life’s obstacles until you get to where you want to be.

 They say that music is the language of the soul, and nothing is truer when it comes to me. I am Muslim, and I grew up Muslim, so becoming a music artist was never in the debate for me, as it is labeled Haram (Sinful) and looked down upon. For as long as I can remember, my voice was trapped in a battle between religion and my heart. Unfortunately, for a long time my heart and desires had to be kept hidden and enslaved within myself, in order to preserve my Iman (Islamic Faith). However, I was able to break free from these mental chains and decided that I can call myself Muslim while doing the things that I love, because no one is perfect, and now it’s my time to shine.
