The musical vehicle for singer/songwriter and videographer Adam Harding, Dumb Numbers make sludgy, expansive indie rock. A native of Australia, Harding spent many years in Los Angeles where he directed music videos for such bands as <a href="spotify:artist:5YkBrE0wF8cAlq3GCOw5Eu" data-name="Best Coast">Best Coast</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5CE2IfdYZEQGIDsfiRm8SI" data-name="DJ Shadow">DJ Shadow</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2wrhBKGC3DTNNNDRJPaxW6" data-name="Sebadoh">Sebadoh</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0Sd7X8SxWV0AyDLbvd4uEu" data-name="Swervedriver">Swervedriver</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:3AmgGrYHXqgbmZ2yKoIVzO" data-name="Warpaint">Warpaint</a>. Working with a handful of Los Angeles-based musicians including <a href="spotify:artist:2wrhBKGC3DTNNNDRJPaxW6" data-name="Sebadoh">Sebadoh</a>’s <a href="spotify:artist:73ITRDqlSE4huQlrKuqrBU" data-name="Lou Barlow">Lou Barlow</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5YkBrE0wF8cAlq3GCOw5Eu" data-name="Best Coast">Best Coast</a>'s <a href="spotify:artist:3HkuUJi2qHvXZWYb2wPePa" data-name="Bobb Bruno">Bobb Bruno</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:267VY6GX5LyU5c9M85ECZQ" data-name="Dinosaur Jr.">Dinosaur Jr.</a> drummer Murph, and <a href="spotify:artist:6aVjo0xHSiuW5hkasoYSR3" data-name="Melvins">Melvins</a> drummer <a href="spotify:artist:4IRzt4Zde0xpbbc2BtsRGm" data-name="Dale Crover">Dale Crover</a>, Harding crafted Dumb Numbers' idiosyncratic mix of moody, guitar-based music that touches upon noise, drone, shoegaze, and other styles of rock. In 2013, Dumb Numbers released their debut full-length, self-titled album on Joyful Noise Recordings, featuring photography by <a href="spotify:artist:2Gu6Q05ExIGwHTF43kqLBI" data-name="David Lynch">David Lynch</a>. The same year, Dumb Numbers toured North America with <a href="spotify:artist:3G3Gdm0ZRAOxLrbyjfhii5" data-name="My Bloody Valentine">My Bloody Valentine</a>, and also supported <a href="spotify:artist:6w7fc6IZlo5zwBaKT5jU1X" data-name="The Lemonheads">The Lemonheads</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:2wrhBKGC3DTNNNDRJPaxW6" data-name="Sebadoh">Sebadoh</a>. In 2015, Dumb Numbers released an ambitious triple 10” box set featuring collaborations with <a href="spotify:artist:2Gu6Q05ExIGwHTF43kqLBI" data-name="David Lynch">David Lynch</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6aVjo0xHSiuW5hkasoYSR3" data-name="Melvins">Melvins</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:4OHQ5ZiLr2huATcz5g5988" data-name="David Yow">David Yow</a> from <a href="spotify:artist:6r26MaDr8bqNALjXgYPXMa" data-name="The Jesus Lizard">The Jesus Lizard</a>. In 2016, Dumb Numbers returned with their second full-length album, featuring <a href="spotify:artist:4OHQ5ZiLr2huATcz5g5988" data-name="David Yow">David Yow</a> on guest vocals. In 2017, Dumb Numbers released the Stranger EP, presenting very slow, cinematic reinterpretations of songs from the first two full-length albums, with <a href="spotify:artist:4IRzt4Zde0xpbbc2BtsRGm" data-name="Dale Crover">Dale Crover</a> on drums, and <a href="spotify:artist:4Td98UbNadNYhS8LnMsgBQ" data-name="Thor Harris">Thor Harris</a> from <a href="spotify:artist:79S80ZWgVhIPMCHuvl6SkA" data-name="Swans">Swans</a> on tubular bells, gongs and additional percussion.
