DWAYNE is a Limburg band with a familiar face in the region: Dwayne Verheyden.
Under the name El Holandés, Dwayne made a splash in Mexico and America, where he performed several times with his great source of inspiration, Flaco Jiménez. Back in Limburg, he immediately began to shape his musical vision. In mid-2024, the band DWAYNE was formed, a Limburg group that brings a unique repertoire: a combination of their dialect and spanish music with Tex-Mex influences.
The band consists of:
Dwayne Verheyden – accordion/vocals
Mitch Verkoelen – guitar/vocals
Mick Mestrom - guitar
Carsten Huppertetz - bass guitar
Boaz-Isaak Mauritz – drums
In July 2024, Dwayne released his first Limburg-language single, "Ze Wille Sloete", as a solo artist. This immediately reached the #1 position in the Limburg Top 10. Now Dwayne Verheyden introduces his new band with his own written song "Limburgs is mien blood".
A performance by DWAYNE guarantees an energetic mix of own songs and well-known dialect and party songs, all in a fresh and contemporary DWAYNE jacket.
