Dynaflo started as front man (myself) Aaron Schaut in late 1998 as Blue Max. Experimenting with various instruments and digital recording processes after a history of punk rock (<a href="spotify:artist:1co4F2pPNH8JjTutZkmgSm" data-name="Ramones">Ramones</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3RGLhK1IP9jnYFH4BRFJBS" data-name="The Clash">The Clash</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5Mhs3Eu8lU6sRCtRYsmABV" data-name="Black Flag">Black Flag</a>) and rock n&#39; roll (<a href="spotify:artist:36QJpDe2go2KgaRleHCDTp" data-name="Led Zeppelin">Led Zeppelin</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:22WZ7M8sxp5THdruNY3gXt" data-name="The Doors">The Doors</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3EhbVgyfGd7HkpsagwL9GS" data-name="Alice Cooper">Alice Cooper</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2NOhotupwYbKRNJF7LMDPG" data-name="The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion">The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4byZW0sEv5RUoyQBfv7CPw" data-name="The Reverend Horton Heat">The Reverend Horton Heat</a>) influences, I started to really get into acts like <a href="spotify:artist:7x83XhcMbOTl1UdYsPTuZM" data-name="Tom Waits">Tom Waits</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6fONWULZRqhb1zmqHwkaIB" data-name="Chuck E. Weiss">Chuck E. Weiss</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5l8VQNuIg0turYE1VtM9zV" data-name="Leonard Cohen">Leonard Cohen</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2h9yQhKyqOMex3QFMVeq7F" data-name="Meat Puppets">Meat Puppets</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:2jCjj3atiDT70VeEshQbOr" data-name="John Lurie">John Lurie</a>. All of these influences combed and started me down a strange path of Blues, Americana, Rock n Roll and Rock with a little bit of punk rock mixed in. During the latter part of the early 2000&#39;s I had written a song called <a href="spotify:album:5Efm3qXCyaPZjHczDA8lnJ" data-name="Battery Operated Heart">Battery Operated Heart</a> which caught the ear of author and comic book genius Warren Ellis. This gave me some credibility and a little bid of notoriety. During this time I also go into acts like <a href="spotify:artist:6zvul52xwTWzilBZl6BUbT" data-name="Pixies">Pixies</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1kJDV4vlgHV6aCB5AE7RqP" data-name="Arizona Amp and Alternator">Arizona Amp and Alternator</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2oAKV8mT3NB1hZbGbGcdYB" data-name="Howe Gelb">Howe Gelb</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4RMjI42zvj6b0gUbK49obE" data-name="Joe Peña">Joe Peña</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1R6AGKClepxwqHW9LFCbdg" data-name="Gabriel Sullivan">Gabriel Sullivan</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:1OmdWpAh1pucAuZPzJaxIJ" data-name="Calexico">Calexico</a> and fell love with what appears to be a whole Tucson desert rock thing. I don&#39;t feel like all of these are a far cry from one another. It all shares a similar base. In the end, I&#39;m making music I love to make and am not worried about how it fits into a scene. We&#39;ve been compared to stuff like <a href="spotify:artist:4ePunOqQbOYoQwd1298g3Z" data-name="Silver Jews">Silver Jews</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5l8VQNuIg0turYE1VtM9zV" data-name="Leonard Cohen">Leonard Cohen</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:42TFhl7WlMRXiNqzSrnzPL" data-name="Lou Reed">Lou Reed</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4UXJsSlnKd7ltsrHebV79Q" data-name="Nick Cave &amp; The Bad Seeds">Nick Cave &amp; The Bad Seeds</a>, and even <a href="spotify:artist:0Xi59sEw38vRvwleSAVqoo" data-name="Marty Robbins">Marty Robbins</a>. All of this is fine with me. Hell, most of what we&#39;ve been compared to I would call a hell-uv-a compliment.
