An unwavering fixture of Bristol’s indie scene, Ead Wood debuted as a solo project of songwriter Ed Soles (Langkamer, Gork). Over the last half a decade they’ve maintained a prolific output of lauded singles and EPs, notable highlights being last year’s EP ‘A Sparkling Gift’ and double A Side ‘Menu’/’Peace In The Pines’. Other highlights include performances at Glastonbury, Left of the Dial, Ritual Union, Dot to Dot, not to mention support slots for Surf Curse, The Clientele, Dougie Poole, Oracle Sisters, Siv Jakobsen and Blood Wizard.
Their upcoming debut album ‘Cash Mountain’, out on the 11th June via Breakfast Records, sees the most refined vision of Ead Wood to date, as Soles embraces a new vision of Americana across the pond. From the rousing country-rock chorus of its self-titled lead single, to the ruminative folk of its closing tracks, there’s a renewed commitment to alt-country experimentation that marks out Soles as a subtly original force in the UK independent scene, with plenty of charm and ideas still up their sleeve.
