Eamon Daly is an “alt-folk” singer/songwriter from the North of Ireland based in Vancouver, B.C. Growing up a self-taught and reclusive bedroom guitarist, Daly’s introspection is on display in his music. A quietly refined craft coloured by a lifelong affinity for emotive storytelling and expressive guitar lines, Eamon’s contributions feel genuine, even when he’s making it up.
As a recent adopter to sharing his music with anyone, Daly’s debut album is teeming with the fragility and optimism that accompanies the realization that nobody really knows what they’re doing. We are unified by not knowing what’s going on most of the time.
Eamon’s music attempts to navigate love and loss, apathy and empathy, cyclicity and serendipity, and the tumultuous quest of identifying when to speak up and when to remain silent.
Eamon’s joint-debut singles (The Tusk and B-Side) form a two-way dialogue wherein two people can no longer hold their tongue and the elephant in the room is inevitably addressed.
Serving as a call and response, both songs explore a bottleneck of emotion from either person’s perspective. Even a bad-guy can become an anti-hero if you tell the story carefully. Listen to both. Pick a side if you want to.
Eamon’s debut singles, The Tusk and B-Side, release on Wednesday, October 8.
His debut album, The Whole Thing, is expected Winter 2025.
