Earth to Zena is a 4-piece psychedelic shoegaze band based in Wellington, New Zealand. The group was founded in late 2017 by singer/keyboardist Renee Cotton and drummer Nic Allan. The two were joined shortly thereafter by bassist Alex Sipahioglu and guitarist/producer Barton McGuire. They released their debut Transmundane EP in September 2018. Since then they have toured New Zealand, performed extensively, and have been working on their next release. Earth to Zena’s sound is inspired by the ethereal melodies of dream-pop, the shimmering noise of shoegaze, the riffs and rhythms of psychedelic rock, and the nostalgic timbres of new wave.
