NEW YORK – Eating Club, or Alex as he’s otherwise known, made his mark touring throughout the world as the drummer for Peasant (Philadelphia based singer-songwriter Damien DeRose) and The Sparta Philharmonic (noise-rock duo from New Jersey) and sharing stages with fellow artists including Dan Mangan, Matt and Kim, Rasputina, Silverstein, RedRumsey (Vern Rumsey of Unwound), Hella, Man Man, Delicate Steve (among others), as well as making appearances on MTV’s The Hive and the BBC Radio 6 with Marc Riley. About 20 years ago, Eating Club bought a guitar and started writing original songs in his shoebox apartment in Center City Philadelphia. Since then, a self-titled debut album was released in 2017 which received critical acclaim from various media outlets including Rock Achorao’, Jersey Beat: Music Fanzine, and a 10/10 PBR Can rating from Savage Henry Magazine. In 2023, EC released “Lose This Parade” – a 12-song record featuring drummer Danny Thompson (Scott Weiland and Alan Parsons) as well as Russell Mark (one half of The Nextdoors and head honcho at Russell Mark Music in Pasadena, CA). On April 25, 2025, Eating Club’s third studio album was released independently. Produced, engineered, and mixed by Russell Mark and spanning his influences from Sonic Youth to Buddy Holly to Richard Wagner, EC’s catalogue is sure to both intrigue and satisfy the listener.
