EBI Pamere has had music flowing through her veins since she was little. Her mother and uncle were lovers of music, surrounding her with CDs and singing, and EBI would print out the lyrics to her favourite songs to learn and sing along. From hip hop to new RnB, EBI drank it all in. Her music now is a digestion of all that she loved when she was growing up, showing the world exactly who she is, where she came from and where she’s going.
EBI used to sing in choirs all the way throughout school, and was embraced and influenced by a sense of musical community. Asking advice from a music teacher on how to write songs, she started putting herself to work at a young age. In 2012, she met producer Speech — this is when she really got to work. Her collaborative relationship with Speech has pushed EBI’s development as an artist, performer and musician, and they’ve worked together tirelessly over the years.
EBI featured on God Colony’s track ‘Howling’ alongside Kojey Radical, which The FADER termed an ‘experimental R&B song as intense as falling out of love’. She’s also worked with former Roundhouse Resident Artist Fred Fredas on ‘Don’t You Worry’.
She’s previously performed at O2 Islington, Proud Camden, Ace Hotel, and Folklore, among many others.
EBI is currently gathering herself, ready to burst onto the scene again with her upcoming track ‘How It Feels’, a smooth, soulful number that’s equal parts heartbreaking and groove-inducing. When she does, you’ll surely know about it.
