It's Mythos –
worlds on a wood panel, worlds of shapes and colours,
worlds of depth and sense, worlds that take you away
and when you close your eyes you will see …
sound.
:::
The new album Echoflex VII: Mythos, released during Easter on Friday April, 2nd, opens the doors to seven mythical worlds of fabulous art by Connor McIntyre and sonorous atmospheres by Echoflex.
Connor McIntyre is a famous British actor and painter. Echoflex is moniker of David Muddyman aka Jamuud, artist and member of the group Loop Guru.
The ambient soundscapes on the album-triple Echoflex I, II and III accompanied David's exhibition "R[o]aming": abstract landscape paintings of the Rame Peninsula and Plymouth Sound. Drifting sounds, slow-moving hypnotic sequences and floating harmonies - perfect for chill-out, dreaming, meditating and roaming around other worlds.
The albums IV and V are a tribute to German electronic music of the 1970's: Krautrock, Kosmische Musik and Arte Sonoro in a modern style supported by David's monoprints of the "Echoes" series.
The 6th album Piano Net is Echoflex' response to the hard Corona-lockdowns which affect almost everybody in the world: it expresses the longing for normality by long echoed meditative piano sounds.
Being active on both, the audible and visible side, it seems somehow natural that Echoflex collaborates with the SeeHear Recordings label.
