Edalam is a French reggae singer from Guadeloupe whose debut single, "Hélicopta," was a Top 20 hit in 2009. Born Alix Zelateur in 1984 in Marie-Galante, Guadeloupe, he moved to France in 2004. He made his commercial recording debut in late 2007 with the single "Hélicopta." Produced by Olivier Pertin and Christophe Caron and co-billed to DJ Lauralee, "Hélicopta" was released on the Universal Music label Airplay Records and eventually became a major hit in 2009, reaching the Top 20 of the French singles chart.
