Eddie was born and raised in Birmingham, England’s ‘city of a thousand trades’.
He started writing songs at school, inspired by the likes of Lennon/McCartney, Ray Davies, Bob Dylan, George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Joni Mitchell. Soon after leaving school, he formed his first band, ‘The Wings Of A Bat’, performing for free at youth clubs, fetes and functions around Birmingham and writing and recording his song demo’s at home on a 2 track tape machine.
As the songwriting developed, confidence grew and so began a series of commutes between Birmingham and London, knocking on the doors of various music publishers in the hope of landing a publishing deal. Eventually, after hearing his home demo’s, a crew from Chrysalis Music travelled up to Birmingham to hear Eddie perform at a local gig.
