Alt. Country and Americana from Helsinki, Finland. Heavy on the lyrics.
In 2016, following a <a href="spotify:artist:2zTCLiQ8OUIWEyV6eZWzFy" data-name="Richmond Fontaine">Richmond Fontaine</a> show, British-Finnish Peter Samuel Tierney, an ex legal aid for deathrow convicts, teamed up with a few bandless local punk rock devotees to form Eden Prairie.
The new album "<a href="spotify:album:2s3gBIB8XWtu0etaAs6R7O" data-name="Give Up The Ghost">Give Up The Ghost</a>" has been featured e.g. on the International Americana Music Show, that airs on over 60 stations worldwide.
"These songs, full of nostalgia for lost chances, lost lives, and lost love, take their time to come to life; never hurried or rushed, they allow the stories to build slowly and carefully, creating melancholy but melodic snapshots of everyday life." – <a href="spotify:artist:3fonM9yAAv0ze7yTzTgHzu" data-name="Vanessa Peters">Vanessa Peters</a>, Texas-based singer-songwriter
"Every so often they drop a tiny little phrase into the song that is the equivalent of those landmines Hemingway used to bury in his short stories..." –Will Shade, Them Bird Things
“I like music that forces me to sit down and LISTEN! A wonderful band.” –Gary Heffern (The Penetrators, Gary Heffern & Beautiful People)
"Easily stands up next to giants like Vlautin or Fisher. I've grown so tired of alt.country and americana, but this has more to do with the writings of an Eitzel or a Carver, where peculiar dilutions of country music only form the backdrop for something that is ultimately universal. “First Time I Lost You” had me in tears. And I can't remember when that last happened. Best album in 2021 so far." –Jean Ramsay, music writer, musician
