Edgaro Productor en Jefe has over nineteen years of experience in Cuban Music and has steadfastly become a leader for the new generation of Cuba producers. British DJ and BBC Radio personality Gilles Peterson dubbed him the Cuban “Madlib” when he hired the resident producer & DJ to curate his successful Cuban collaboration albums, Havana Cultura. Billboard magazine reviewed the album as a “brilliant series of Cuban recordings”. As Creative Director of one of Cuba’s original Hip Hop bands “Doble Filo”, and one of the early MPC owners in Cuba, Edgar was one of the pioneers responsible for crafting the DNA of the nations unique interpretation of the rap genre

Brands ranging from Bacardi, OkayPlayer, Vice Media to SHOwtime have called upon Edgar to consult, collaborate, and produce with local talent and Questlove considers him a record-digging buddy when visiting Cuba.

Currently, Edgar is based between NYC and Havana. Working and performing in both cities as a Music Producer and a DJ in events that range from CHANEL Cruise Show to opening for acts like Questlove, Cimafunk, etc, as well as he's solo performances pushing boundaries mixing genres with what he calls "Dirty Dancing"


He's recently been prenominated to the 62nd GRAMMY Awards for his work as Music Producer of Maria Bacardi’s sophomore Album “Duele”.
