Edward Perez is a bassist, composer, and arranger based in Queens, New York. His works have been recorded and performed by many artists including <a href="spotify:artist:33Jkw9vRz13pxeEU7zcump">Silkroad Ensemble</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5Dl3HXZjG6ZOWT5cV375lk">Yo-Yo Ma</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:77BeMktShzkB46MzJChNtK">Cristina Pato</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0tSCCXa3mZWhzjVPOZVnvZ">Ignacio Berroa</a>, and Kenan Adnawi. With saxophonist/composer Michael Thomas, he co-founded the 18-piece <a href="spotify:artist:5wLfqIG1AUN2mTz0MWeZwZ">Terraza Big Band</a>. In addition to his work as a sideman and touring player, Perez is a member of trumpeter <a href="spotify:artist:4p1XWXdj83wryyzZTpeWf3">Jason Palmer</a>'s quintet. Perez issued The Year of Two Summers, his leader debut, in 2008. In 2012 he was a featured soloist on <a href="spotify:artist:2Tc4LHxZrYtT2bei0qElmw">Arturo Stable</a>'s Cuban Crosshatching. In 2019, <a href="spotify:artist:5wLfqIG1AUN2mTz0MWeZwZ">Terraza Big Band</a> released One Day Wonder and took home the 2020 Grammy Award for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album. Perez worked with <a href="spotify:artist:6wXsUuOFYVpt9UhAEXTR6n">Roxana Ahmed</a> on Ontology (2021) and Unánime (2022), and pianist <a href="spotify:artist:0Q4WdT8DgUM4uvuGk3eWF8">Emilo Villafranca</a> on Standing by the Crossroads (2023).
