Eelsblood

Taking inspiration from the 90s, Eelsblood wants to make music that is both noisy and melodic at the same time. Other than growing up in the same decade of music, the members of the band have very different musical backgrounds and influences, ranging from Black metal, punk, classical, hardcore, pop, prog and alternative rock. Still they have a common love for noisy, distorted indie rock/pop and bands like Motorpsycho, Dinosaur Jr, Pavement, Pixies and Radiohead.

The band was formed in Bergen by Sverre Småge and Henrik Duesund by Henrik borrowing a bass from Sverre for fun. Sverre had some songs in the drawer from previous band projects and they started to play them. A drummer was needed and guitar virtuoso Hallgeir Fiskaaen was happy to be recruited for the task. Though playing as a trio was fun, there was still something missing to make the songs flourish. A strategic birthday gift later and Johanne Schjelderup joined on keys. The band was then complete in the late fall 2021 and they immediately began making new songs and refining the old songs from the archive.
