Drawing influence from a broad range of niche micro-genres including trip-hop, IDM, dream pop, extreme metal, trance, vaporwave, shoegaze, drone, and many other styles; ‘eEyore鬱’ is a lo-fi, experimental, hypnagogic electronic music project by Fargo, ND-based social critic and metamodernist artist Isaac Schultz.

His first release under the pseudonym was the ‘phantom limb’ EP in August 2018; which was inspired by Richard Linklater’s 2001 independent film ‘Waking Life’ and features voice soundbite samples of several philosophical quotes from the film. It was released independently and distributed using a mobile iOS app through Amuse.io and the artist currently remains unsigned.

The motivated new artist has expressed plans to stick to this cult movie inspiration model of concept albums and is currently working on a EP loosely inspired by 2001 cult film ‘Donnie Darko’, which a single from is set for release around Halloween 2018. Schultz has said the project is more a learning process for him than an artistic expression and that he is still in the process of self-teaching himself music production techniques during the process of creating music. He has also stated on social media that future releases for the eEyore鬱 music project are to sound “significantly more weirdcore”.
