Effji

Effji is a force to reckon with. To begin, her fluid and diverse approach to creating and delivering music. Born in the lakeside city of Kenya, Kisumu, where the art started to be nurtured and was later developed and influenced by years of living both in the Coast of Kenya and Nairobi. Her interest is drawn back to her childhood years from her mother playing My Heart Will Go On Album by Céline Dion repeatedly and owning sets of compact disks of 90s hits by artists like Rihanna, Neyo, Mariah Carey to her father's love for playing local Luo music (native language) by the likes of local musicians like Musa Juma and Lingala music.

With the inspiration to blend sounds, cultures and languages from a musical background and developing interests in other sounds like RnB, Pop, Rock, Rap and African sounds, her description of the sound she creates as music for the streets and for the soul with an undoubtedly signature voice.

Effji's official debut was during the pandemic with a single, Niko On, and is currently fast rising with the release of single True Colours and Money which are both in Colours, her first Album featured by Colossal Music.

Her music is centered towards being authentic, positivity, meditation and an unending spread of good, positive energy.
