The self-acclaimed ‘Bayside Boy' Efi Cruise calls his music the 'Southern Afro-Jazz' which is a blend of Jazz, Afro-Beats, Highlife, Hip-Hop, and Funk.
Raised in the bustling, electric energy of Lagos, Efi Cruise began crafting music as a form of personal resistance and cultural celebration. Over the years, he has evolved into an artist bridging the gap between traditional West African rhythms and the improvisational spirit of Jazz—with lyrical honesty that rivals that of Hip Hop’s sharpest poets.
With the release of his debut deluxe studio album titled 'Mirrors' in October of 2023, the artist has been able to carve a niche for himself in the Afro-Jazz creative space.
Efi’s style of performance is scat-singing. It is a style common among Jazz and Bebop musicians.
