Freeland Roe, who stylises his stage name as an abbreviation of his initials EF-ROE is a producer based out of Melbourne Australia.
His style varies from tranquil progressive to uplifting upbeat dance music. Notable influences are Rufus, Chris Lake, Deadmau5 among many others.
Q: How did you get into producing?
A: "I've always had a love of music, I remember staying up late at night to watch RAGE on ABC as a child, there was always something interesting being played, the program really opened my mind to different genres and was a staple of my childhood.
I started by producing around 2018-2019 firstly with Lo-Fi and Hip-Hop instrumentals (I still hold both close to my heart). To be honest I wanted to be part of a Hip-Hop type group but that never came to fruition, I'll leave that to the pros!
I moved towards producing EDM shortly after, As I had always had an obsession with EDM from the 2000's (feeling old yet?).
Calvin Harris, The Presets, Prodigy and many more. One of the tracks that really caught my ear as a kid was: David Guetta VS The Egg - Love Don't Let Me Go. I remember wondering "How the hell did they make that noise?" and my obsession was born!
Ever since then I have loved to find new music, sounds, samples, tones and textures. I haven't fully found "My sound" yet but I hope you can join me on my journey to discover my sound and I hope that you enjoy listening to my music as much as I enjoy making it!
