The pop-rocker released his debut single THIS MORNING in 2003. The plan was to record an album in English - but someone suggested to try it in Afrikaans. The re-recorded result, V'MORE, cemented Afrikaans as the way to go after high praise from its debut at an Adam Tas concert. The 2nd single MORS received its 1st airplay on Pretoria FM, soon spreading to other stations, and more singles from the 2008 debut album ONGEVRAAGDE "HELLO" featured on Channel24. A re-recorded duet of DIS ELEKTRIES ft Yolandi stayed at #1 for 8 weeks on Uitsaaines in 2011. More hits followed between 2013 and 2018, including the iconic KOM RED MY, the #1 hits MELKWEG REËNBOOG and BETTER DAYS (ft Algorrid3m), and the YouTube smash KOEBAAI. Egmond appeared in the pilot of the "Van Coke Show" in 2018. In 2023 the singer celebrated 20 years with KOEKSISTER POP, a compilation featuring new radio hits ONGELOOFLIK, PYN and EVERYTHING WE SAY! Top 10 radio hit SPOOKASEM followed in 2024, while mid 2025 saw the release of a MJOLO NEX (DON'T WANNA DIE), a collab with Candy Nm, the new remake of JY'S IN PARADYS (ft Algorrid3m), and the new smash AARDBEWING . Next Music distributes Egmond's catalog digitally worldwide. PR by Lydia Winchester. Sandy Robbie manages all major productions.
