Egomey

The five young musicians of Egomey follow in the footsteps of Dante Alighieri with their debut album "Offenbarung", and with their multi-faceted mixture of dark metal they venture into the unimagined depths of hell. Black metal roots entwine Neue Deutsche Härte and post-metallic chaos, carried by undulating melodies.
The quintet has been playing together now since 2017, always searching, always curious. "We create our atmosphere with the guitars and the vocals," frontman Felix emphasizes. Thus, the driving waves of strings and throbbing thunderstorms of drums are accompanied by his clear vocals, but also by venomous jangling and guttural growling, mostly in German. The formation's verses follow the vision behind Egomey himself. The neologistic band name unites the Latin words "ego" and "mei", roughly translated as "my ego", and hints at the metaphorical descent into one's own inner hellscape.
"It's important to me that an inner film plays in the listener, arising from the text and the music," Felix sums up. However, an overarching or even salvific message with a raised forefinger is not intended, rather self-reflection and the exploration of their own mental underworld landscape.
"Offenbarung" turns out to be a multi-layered foray through various levels of the shadow world, a small "divine comedy".
