EIGHTBALLS

Swedish punkreggae band from Härnösand, Sweden. Founded by Håkan Hanssen, Patrik ”Lillis” Grundström, Mattias ”Östen” Östman och Patrik ”Dore” Landin in 1999. Several different members have come and gone during their 15 years but these 4 stayed together until they split up in 2014. Influences were bands like &#64;<a href="spotify:artist:0EdvGhlC1FkGItLOWQzG4J" data-name="Sublime">Sublime</a> , &#64;pepper, &#64;<a href="spotify:artist:2QsynagSdAqZj3U9HgDzjD" data-name="Bob Marley &amp; The Wailers">Bob Marley &amp; The Wailers</a> , &#64;Long beach dub all stars , to name a few. They also were influenced by Swedish reggae, folkmusic and the -90’s skatepunk bands. They liked to mix different music genres with their reggae sound, and also to make covers of less known songs by known artists. The first gig they did as a band was in the beginning of April 2000. A high school in town hade a “you must attend show”, with local artists instead of regular classes. The show was a success for the kids but the band almost got banned from playing anymore schools in the city. This due to some “funny” lyrics and statements made on stage that day! 2002 they made a all night cover gig and got great reviews. This started the bands reputation as a good cover band to. They mixed all cover sets with their own original music and it was very appreciated by everyone. The band did about 700-800 gigs during 2002-2013 and got a name as one of the best live bands ever to come out of Härnösand.
