Ekhi Lambert is a Basque singer-songwriter from Irulegi, who walks between various influences: Basque folk songs, avant-garde pop, heroic fantasy universes... For his second album, Inbasioak (Forbidden Colours 2024), he has collaborated with a number of musicians to create a prolific work. Many faceted and profound, the album presents a series of twelve songs. It was composed and arranged for orchestra over the course of an entire year, then produced with the help of musicians from a wide range of backgrounds: Vincent Mougel, the strings of Oiasso Kamerata, Joseba Irazoki, Oihan Oliarj-Inés, Félix Buff... Recorded in the spring of 2023 between Garate (Kaki Arkarazo) and Shorebreaker (Johannes Buff) studios, the album invites us on an epic excursion, a desertion led by poetic visions. On stage, accompanied by an electric guitar, Ekhi Lambert gives his music a refined tone. His compositions, both precise and phantasmagorical, reveal a singular language, a voice exiled to the confines of the untranslatable.
