El Mundo de Sofía is a progressive alternative rock power trio from Havana, Cuba, led by the Cuban guitarist, singer, and music producer Sofía Guilarte, who is considered the first solo electric guitarist woman in Cuba to lead a rock power trio. Their name is inspired by the novel by Norwegian writer Jostein Gaarder. El Mundo de Sofía has stood out in festivals such as Havana World Music 2019, Jazz Plaza 2019 (sharing the stage with Stanley Jordan), Mad Cool Talent 2020, among others. Additionally, they have participated in various contests, winning the Best Instrumental Music Award on the television program Cuerda Viva with the single “La Tempestad” and in the Talento Cubano Contest with “Boomerang.”
