El Sarlipan is a singer-songwriter and musician from the Cordillera. Born in Bauko, Mountain Province, and raised in Bua, Itogon, Benguet, El discovered his passion for music at a young age through church activities, community gatherings, and local performances that sparked his love for singing and storytelling.
His songs are inspired by his culture, personal experiences, and everyday observations of life in the Cordilleras. El writes about love, faith, identity, and culture. His debut song, “Sidung,” was based on a short film by John Pucay and quickly resonated with listeners for its heartfelt message. He later released “Sisya” and “Ibbay”—the latter a reflection on finding peace and rest in the Lord.
Blending modern sounds with traditional Kankanaey language and values, El Sarlipan brings a unique voice to the local music scene. He continues to explore new genres while staying rooted in who he is. As a solo artist, he uses music as a way to celebrate identity, inspire others, and tell stories that matter.
