Elektryk Bestia

In 2006 founding members James Wilding and Patryk Grzelak first met...and found they had a lot in common. Especially when it came to music. Using a small digital recorder they made their first songs in 2007. Sharing it on MySpace...they got their first listeners. One thing was for sure: the music wasn't easily categorized. One reviewer referred to it as "Eclectic Prog" which the band still likes to use. In 2009 they were joined by synth player James "Doctor" Tarbell and guitarist Bill Matolka. This lineup played its first shows that summer while continuing to write music. With Matolka departing in the fall the band was joined by a musician named Idris after a productive audition. He took on guitar and bass duties. Although they had written and demoed many songs before they had yet to record an official release. That changed in 2010 when Elektryk Bestia recorded a self-titled EP with recording engineer Dave Rice. More shows followed including 2 in New York City. Idris departed in late 2010 and the band played more shows in 2011 with new member Pat Rose. Other than a video for the song "Brudna woda" this would prove to be the bands last activity until 2019. Feeling stagnated and discouraged by the current musical scene they went on hiatus apart from the odd jam session. Eventually, the passion and inspiration returned..perhaps inevitably. Now a trio of Grzelak, Wilding and Tarbell, Elektryk Bestia recorded and released a new album "Return of Bestia" in 2020.
