ELENI is a singer, composer and educator from Greece, based between her two home cities, Athens Greece & Brooklyn NY. Singing and writing in Spanish, English and Greek, Eleni delves into varied repertoire with a common texture throughout, as she finds jazz, improvisation and the melismas in Latin and Mediterranean music to come from a very similar place.
Some highlights include her collaboration in Grammy nominated album Ona with Thana Alexa and in Latin Grammy nominated album Amor Pasado with Leonel Garcia. Eleni has performed and recorded with several artists in New York such as Petros klampanis, Juana Luna, Emily Elbert, Shai Maestro, Leo Genovese, Vasilis Kostas at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Park Avenue Armory, National Sawdust, as well as festivals in Europe and Latin America.
Eleni teaches vocal improvisation at Bobby McFerrin's Circlesongs Program at Omega Institute, Megaron Athens Concert Hall, SNCC & El Sistema Greece, as well as a Teaching Artist for Carnegie Hall - Lullaby Project since 2017, composing music with families across all boroughs of New York with more than 20 partner sites around the globe.
Her studies in art history & archaeology of Africa, Asia & the Middle East (SOAS), drama & dance (Tufts University) and world voice performance (Berklee College of Music) helped stir her never ending curiosity about different cultures' history and their folklore; through their sounds, music, visual art, movement, and their storytelling!
