Elephant Gunn

Elephant Gunn is a power trio that formed in 2010. While the band went through different iterations, Elephant Gunn has always maintained three steady members until the end of the project. Those members are Mike Rodriguez on guitar, Zack Young on bass, and Craig Merchant on drums, each member contributing vocals.

Elephant Gunn's music spans a wide variety of genres, from the harmonious vocals of 60's psychedelic rock, to the musical soundscapes of 70's prog, to the fast and furious pace of 80's punk and metal, to the dirt and fuzz of 90's grunge. Other various influences in between would coalesce to become the trademark sound and style of Elephant Gunn.

While Elephant Gunn as a project is currently closed, during it's time on the local music circuit they played many different shows across the valley, in various different venues. From small dive bars to large city-wide events, Elephant Gunn garnered a reputation as a rowdy, yet refined group, looking to shake up the Phoenix music scene.

Currently, the members of Elephant Gunn are continuing to play music through their own individual projects. Mike continues to create dreamy soundscape guitar-driven alternative, Zack creates much more stripped down, acoustic driven music with his project "Zack Abides," and Craig continues to rock hard as the drummer for the band "Moons, Birds, & Monsters."
