Originating from Boorloo Perth, Western Australia. Eleven AM are a 4-piece folk rock/shoegaze band dishing out a variety of guitar-oriented melodies and hard-hitting arena-esque choruses.
At the heart of Eleven AM's soundscape is a lyrically centred core exploring themes such as young adulthood, self-reflection, relationships and introspection. With a sense of vulnerability and pensiveness, AM's lyrical and melodical notions gel with folk, indie and alternative rock likeness to create a personalized and uplifting sound.
Naturally taking on a more focused and conducted approach for their sophomore single, Evergreen rushes out the gates with tight, rhythmic pillars supporting more grounded melodic refrains. A more vulnerable and intimate vocal leaves room for the drum and bass groove to sit in the driver seat. Instead of reaching a definitive finish, the band chose a fade out mirroring the imagery of getting lost or fading to grey.
“Coming to terms with the fact that people can and will change throughout their lives is quite dauting and I think this song is me coming to terms with that. I see a trend in how I write, comparing people to nature, events or something just more understandable. Seems to work for me and maybe you to. Your ‘Evergreen’ could be a loved one, best friend or even place you love that you want to stay the same because it might be comfortable and what you’re sure of but that’s not always possible.”
