Eli Kristin Hanssveen

Eli Kristin Hanssveen’s unique musical talents and versatility have paved the way for an extraordinary career. After starting out as an actress, Eli Kristin explored a range of different musical genres, before making a break into the operatic repertoire. In addition to her operatic roles, she is an acclaimed solo recitalist, chamber musician and a musical theatre singer/actress. In 2018 she made her role debut as Desirée Armfeldt in Stephen Sondheim’s musical «A Little Night Music» and in 2020 another role debut as Aldonza in «Man of la Mancha» by David Leigh.

Her classical album, «Sempre Libera», was released in 2013 on the label LAWO Classics. She has received a number of prizes, and was the first singer to receive «The Tom Wilhelmsen Opera and Ballet award», in 2009. Eli Kristin created the opera festival «Operafest Røykenvik», where she serves as Artistic Director. The festival had its inaugural season in 2018, and has received an overwhelming response by the press and public alike. More information on operafest.no
