Eliud

Eliud’s new production can awaken nostalgic memories to those who grew up near the Tamaulipas/Nuevo Leon-Texas Border. In this new project, he draws inspiration from artists like <a href="spotify:artist:5fKc00Wh60ggl0QptZ2aBx" data-name="Rigo Tovar">Rigo Tovar</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:00YglmekVqqlHbv8N8erfv" data-name="Grupo Pegasso">Grupo Pegasso</a> but adds a nice twist of modern electronic cumbia. Eliud, who has a background in classical music, also ties in certain elements of expertise to give a unique touch to his music.


His recent singles include “El Coyote” and “Güerita”. The former is a bop that blends traditional tropical cumbia with electronic urbano music. The lyrics tell the story of a young boy who tells his mother that he is leaving the home because he gets grounded too often. “Güerita”, on the other hand, showcases a typical 90’s synthesizer that was used in cumbia bands like Selena y Los Dinos and others. This tune talks about the obsession many latino guys have with blonde women but are always too shy to talk to them when they’re out and about.


His latest release is titled “Corazón Roto”. This song blends cumbia style rhythms with latin jazz fusion. The conga drums are beautifully played by Puerto Rican musician, Pablo Lopez
