“Cecilia Villar Eljuri is a triple threat: She’s an accomplished songwriter, a great vocalist and one hell of a guitar player.” –NPR MUSIC

Ecuador-born, NYC-bred Cecilia Villar Eljuri is an award-winning Latina singer-songwriter and guitarist whose original music powerfully fuses elements of rock, reggae, and world rhythms with soaring guitar and impactful lyrical content.  An “artivist,” she combines her musical artistry with her keen sense of social justice and a deep commitment to activism for human rights and the environment.

Eljuri has honed her distinctive sound, creating strongly melodic, guitar-driven anthems, voicing urgent calls for social change in both Spanish and English. Her influences include traditional Ecuadoran pasillos and boleros, Afro-Cuban sounds, reggae, and the rock and punk she heard in NYC nightclubs.

To date Eljuri has released five critically acclaimed solo albums through Manovill Records: “En Paz” (2008), “Fuerte” (2012), “La Lucha” (2016), “Resiste” (2019) and “Reflexión” (2022). Her sixth studio album “Así es el Mundo” will be released August 22, 2025 by Manovill Records with Six Degrees Records Distribution.
